Dr. Prashantha H. S is a senior academician, researcher, and academic leader with over 26 years of experience in engineering education, research, and institutional development. He holds B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bangalore University (1997), M.Tech from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum (2001), and a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai (2013). His doctoral research focused on the digital signal processor implementation of video and image processing algorithms on mobile devices, laying the foundation for his long-term work in signal processing, image processing, and computer vision. He has further strengthened his academic credentials through advanced certifications in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Generative AI from premier institutions including IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, IBM, NVIDIA, etc..
Professionally, Dr. Prashantha has served in a wide range of academic roles, progressing from Lecturer and Assistant Professor to Professor and Head of Department, Research Coordinator, and Domain Expert. He is currently working as Professor – Computer Science and Domain Expert in Satellite Imaging and Computer Vision at Atria University, Bangalore, associated with the Centre of Excellence in AI & Decentralized Technologies (ACAD) since March 2024. Previously, he held senior faculty and leadership positions at KS Institute of Technology, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Atria Institute of Technology, and PES Institute of Technology, where he contributed extensively to curriculum design, postgraduate program leadership, accreditation activities (NBA, NAAC, NIRF), and research governance. He has also served as Visiting Faculty at UVCE Bangalore and PESITM Shimoga, demonstrating sustained engagement across autonomous and university-affiliated institutions.
