Established in 1965 as Tripura Engineering College. Later, the Government of India converted the Tripura Engineering College to National Institute of Technology Agartala on 1st April 2006. 1. Ujjayanta Palace
Ujjayanta Palace is the state museum of the Indian state of Tripura and former royal palace of the princely state of Tripura. It was built by Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya in 1901. It housed the State Legislative Assembly between 1973 and 2011. The palace primarily showcases the lifestyle, arts, culture, tradition and crafts of communities residing in northeast India, along with many stone sculptures of the Manikya dynasty.
2. Neermahal Palace
Neermahal also known as Twijilikma Nuyung (lit. 'Water Palace') is a former royal palace of Tripura Kingdom, built by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya bahadur in 1930. It is also the largest water palace in India. The palace is situated in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake ( Twijilikma ), in Melaghar 53 kilometers away from Agartala, the capital of Tripura.
3. Heritage Park
Heritage park is a open air park situated near Shyamali Bazar area of Agartala. The park is famous for the beautifully decorated landscape and garden and also showcases all the major tourist destinations in miniature forms. There is a open air theater inside the park where various events took place. The park displays the diverse and unique culture of Tripura and is immensely popular among both locals as well as tourists.
