Cognitive Assistance for Cross-Platform Cloud Configuration Management

Abstract:

This paper presents a cognitive architectural framework for identifying and validating infrastructure configurations across heterogeneous cloud environments. The proposed approach combines semantic modeling, contextual analysis, and adaptive reasoning to address configuration challenges that are often overlooked by traditional rule-based solutions. The framework is conceptually developed through a comprehensive review of existing literature and observations from real-world deployment scenarios, highlighting persistent challenges such as implicit dependencies, platform-specific constraints, and insufficient parameter standardization.

The architecture introduces a multicloud abstraction layer and supports both pre-deployment validation and post-deployment analysis to enhance configuration reliability and reduce manual troubleshooting efforts. While the framework is not empirically evaluated, it is grounded in established infrastructure-as-code practices and aligns with widely adopted patterns in cross-platform cloud operations. Overall, this work offers a design-oriented contribution toward interpretable, context-aware validation mechanisms that can be integrated into modern DevOps workflows.
