Human-Centered Smart Computing: Advancing Trustworthy and Explainable AI Systems

Abstract:

Smart computing has evolved rapidly from traditional automation to intelligent systems capable of perception, reasoning, and decision-making across complex real-world environments. As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in domains such as healthcare, sustainability, education, and digital infrastructure, the development of trustworthy, explainable, and human-centered AI systems has become critically important.

This keynote presentation explores recent advancements in smart computing with a focus on explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), ethical AI design, and responsible deployment strategies. The talk highlights emerging techniques in vision transformers, intelligent data-driven models, and AI-assisted decision systems, demonstrating their applications in healthcare diagnostics, smart environments, and large-scale digital transformation.

Key challenges including algorithmic bias, transparency, scalability, and accountability are examined, alongside practical frameworks and design principles to address these concerns. Drawing on contemporary research trends and selected case studies, the keynote outlines future directions for building intelligent systems that balance technological innovation with societal values.

The session concludes by emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration among academia, industry, and policymakers to ensure that smart computing technologies remain ethical, interpretable, and beneficial to society.
