Beyond the Chatbot: Architecting Auditable Governance for the Era of Agentic AI
Abstract:
As we enter 2026, the AI landscape has shifted from passive large language models to "Agentic AI"—autonomous systems capable of reasoning, planning, and executing end-to-end workflows. While this offers immense efficiency, it creates a "Governance Gap" that traditional auditing frameworks are not equipped to handle.
This keynote explores the transition from monitoring conversations to auditing autonomous actions. Drawing from real-world experience in managing hyperscale GPU clusters at Google Cloud and the data and security frameworks outlined in her book, The Algorithmic Fortress, Tanvi Desai will provide a roadmap for "Governance-by-Design." We will examine the necessity of immutable audit trails, the technical challenge of verifying agent reasoning, and how the International Auditors for Digital and Data Management Association can define the 2026 standards for trust and accountability in smart computing.
