Abstract:

This keynote explores how artificial intelligence and machine learning are transforming enterprise storage management, moving beyond reactive monitoring toward predictive, autonomous, and self-healing data infrastructure. Drawing from real-world implementations across petabyte-scale environments in Fortune 500 manufacturing, semiconductor design, and healthcare sectors, the talk presents practical AI-driven frameworks for proactive risk identification, autonomous capacity optimization, and intelligent data lifecycle management. The session concludes with a forward-looking perspective on emerging technologies including large language model integration for natural language storage operations and the convergence of software-defined storage with AI orchestration.

Nazir Mohammed is a Cloud Storage Architect and researcher with over 15 years of enterprise IT experience designing and managing mission-critical data infrastructure across some of the most demanding technical environments in the United States. Currently serving as Cloud Storage Architect at Honda AHM, Nazir leads the design and implementation of cloud storage architectures aligned with State of Ohio security and compliance standards including FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 frameworks, driving cloud modernization, FinOps optimization, and enterprise disaster recovery strategy for one of the world's largest automotive organizations.

Prior to his current role, Nazir served as Storage and Backup Engineer at Honda North America R&D for nine consecutive years — one of the longest sustained infrastructure engagements in the organization's history — where he managed over 10 petabytes of enterprise storage infrastructure supporting more than 4,000 users across manufacturing, design, and administrative functions spanning NetApp MetroCluster, Pure Storage, and Hitachi VSP environments. This infrastructure formed the operational backbone of Honda's entire North American business operations. He subsequently served as Storage Consultant at Intel Corporation, managing large-scale NetApp deployments supporting high-performance CAE engineering workloads critical to Intel's semiconductor design pipeline, and as Infrastructure Engineer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (ALSAC) — one of the world's foremost pediatric cancer research institutions — managing cloud storage systems for healthcare research data requiring 99.99% availability and stringent regulatory compliance.

Nazir's research spans enterprise storage reliability, AI-driven infrastructure risk management, cloud architecture optimization, and intelligent data systems engineering. His published work has been recognized through citations by researchers internationally and through peer review contributions to IEEE-sponsored international conferences and journals including IDEA 2026 at Jio Institute — one of India's premier AI research conferences featuring keynote speakers from Google DeepMind, Microsoft Research, and IBM Quantum — and CICBA 2026 sponsored by the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society with proceedings published in the Springer CCIS series. He holds membership in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Chartered IT Professional (CITP) designation from the British Computer Society, and serves on the Technical Program Committees of multiple international AI and computing conferences.
