Intelligent and Sustainable Post-Quantum Migration for Payment Infrastructure

Abstract:

Digital payment systems rely on public-key cryptography, including RSA and elliptic-curve mechanisms, for secure communications, authentication, key establishment, and digital signatures. A sufficiently capable quantum computer could compromise these mechanisms, while data captured today may be decrypted in the future. This keynote explores how AI-assisted cryptographic discovery, dependency mapping, and risk prioritization can help payment organizations identify vulnerable systems and plan migration to NIST-standardized post-quantum algorithms, including ML-KEM and ML-DSA. Drawing on peer-reviewed research and payment modernization experience, the talk presents a phased and deployable roadmap for building resilient, crypto-agile, and quantum-secure payment infrastructure.
