From AI Agents to Autonomous Enterprises: Building Intelligent Systems That Can Act, Govern, and Recover
Abstract:
Artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving from analytical support toward autonomous action. Enterprise systems are increasingly expected not only to predict and recommend, but also to participate directly in operational decisions, workflows, and remediation. This shift creates a new challenge: how can organizations increase autonomy without sacrificing control, accountability, resilience, and trust?
This keynote explores the transition from AI agents to autonomous enterprise systems through the lens of Operational Intelligence. It presents a practical framework for combining real-time evidence, contextual decision-making, policy guardrails, human oversight, bounded execution, verification, and continuous learning. The discussion will examine why model capability alone is insufficient for production-scale adoption and why trustworthy autonomy requires architectures that are observable, explainable, reversible, and resilient under stress.
Drawing on enterprise technology and production-operations experience, the keynote will highlight how organizations can move from isolated AI pilots toward governed intelligent systems that improve service reliability, decision quality, operational efficiency, and business continuity. The central message is simple: the future of enterprise AI is not merely more intelligent systems, but systems capable of acting responsibly, recovering safely, and learning continuously.
