AI-Driven Healthcare Database Optimisation: Enhancing Predictive Accuracy, Accelerating Queries, and Delivering Measurable Clinical ROI

Abstract:

The rapid expansion of healthcare data spanning clinical records, diagnostic outputs, billing systems, and patient engagement platforms has introduced substantial challenges in data management, interoperability, and operational efficiency. Traditional healthcare database systems, originally built for transactional workloads, are increasingly strained by the scale, complexity, and real-time demands of modern healthcare ecosystems. This presentation examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can be harnessed to transform healthcare databases into intelligent, adaptive systems for managing patient data. Drawing on real-world industry practices, it highlights how AI-driven solutions enable seamless integration of heterogeneous data sources, automate complex workflows, and deliver advanced analytics across both clinical and financial domains. Key focus areas include intelligent data normalisation across fragmented systems, AI-powered document processing for extracting insights from unstructured data, predictive analytics to optimise revenue cycle management, and patient-centric intelligence to enhance care delivery. The session also explores how cloud-native architectures and interoperable frameworks enable scalable, secure, and compliant data ecosystems. In addition, the discussion emphasises the growing role of real-time data processing and AI-driven decision support in clinical environments. By enabling faster insights and proactive interventions, healthcare providers can move beyond retrospective analysis toward continuous, data-informed care. This shift not only improves clinical outcomes but also supports more personalised patient experiences and operational agility. By evolving from reactive data systems to predictive and prescriptive intelligence platforms, healthcare organisations can significantly enhance operational efficiency, reduce administrative burden, strengthen compliance, and ultimately deliver better patient outcomes. This session offers a forward-looking perspective on designing intelligent, AI-enabled healthcare data ecosystems that are scalable, resilient, and aligned with the future of digital healthcare transformation.
