Cyber Resilience in Action: A Modern Approach to Network Security and Threat Mitigation
Abstract:
In the digital age, the ability of organizations to maintain operational continuity amidst rising cyber threats hinges on robust network security and adaptive resilience strategies. This presentation offers a modern perspective on cyber resilience through the lens of network security fundamentals, evolving threat vectors, and actionable best practices. Drawing insights from both technological and human-centric security frameworks, it explores the foundational principles of the CIA triad confidentiality, integrity, and availability while addressing real-world threats including malware, phishing, DDoS, and man-in-the-middle attacks. Key defense mechanisms such as firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network access control (NAC) are discussed in detail, along with the importance of regular audits and employee training. The presentation also reflects on the future of cybersecurity in the context of IoT, AI, and quantum computing, underscoring the need for adaptive security strategies. Attendees will gain practical knowledge on how to design layered defense systems and foster a proactive security culture, enabling their organizations to navigate and mitigate risk in an increasingly complex cyber landscape.
