High Availability, Zero Downtime: Building Resilient Systems with MongoDB Atlas

Abstract of talk:

In today's digital world, where connectivity is perpetual, downtime is not just an inconvenience but a serious risk to business. In the financial services, healthcare, and e-business sectors, even minimal delays and every moment of downtime translate into heavy financial costs. As systems spread acrossgeographies and user expectations keep rising, achieving high availability and zero downtime becomes a strategic necessity. This keynote discusses MongoDB Atlas, a cloud-hosted, fully managed database, and how it allows organizations to build fault-tolerant and self-healing systems that have the capacity to recover from failure and expand automatically. This talk will cover real-world patterns, present guidelines on fault- tolerant strategies to deploy, and explain how replica sets, global clusters, multi-cloud failover, and backup automation work together to ensure business continuity. Based on real-world experiences in mission-critical deployments, including one major migration in the financial industry, we will demonstrate how MongoDB Atlas controls things like rolling updates and disaster recovery with minimal operations overhead. Whether one is a Chief Technology Officer, architect, or engineer, learners will leave with actionable recommendations to future-proof their data layer and keep systems online and running all year round.
