Emerging Trends and Challenges in Network Security: A Comprehensive Analysis of AI-Driven Threat Detection Systems

Abstract:

In today’s interconnected digital world, securing networks has moved from being a technical requirement to a strategic necessity. As cyber threats grow more sophisticated, organizations are rapidly embracing advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to defend their critical infrastructure. This paper provides a holistic examination of how network security practices have evolved to counter emerging threats. We delve into AI-powered threat detection systems, the rise of Zero Trust Architectures, and the urgent need for cloud-native and edge security frameworks. By analyzing real-world challenges such as scalability issues, high false positive rates, and data privacy concerns, this study proposes actionable strategies for creating resilient, adaptive security infrastructures. Our findings highlight the pressing need for dynamic, self-healing networks that not only react but anticipate and neutralize threats before they materialize.
