Architecting Autonomous and Semantically Aware Distributed Systems at Enterprise Scale

Abstract:

Modern enterprises require distributed systems that can process events in real time, understand operational context, and respond autonomously to changing conditions. This session presents a unified architecture combining scalable event-driven processing, semantic event sourcing, and intent-based orchestration.

The first part explores high-throughput event-driven architectures using distributed streaming, microservices, fault-tolerant processing, and dynamic workload management. The second part introduces semantic event sourcing, where system events and traces are enriched with domain ontologies, contextual metadata, and causal relationships. This semantic layer enables teams to identify non-linear failure chains, investigate issues across service boundaries, and obtain meaningful diagnostic insights from complex operational data.

The final part demonstrates how intent-based orchestration closes the operational loop. By combining business intent, semantic context, system telemetry, and workload patterns, the orchestration layer can make intelligent decisions about scaling, resource allocation, traffic prioritization, anomaly handling, and automated drift remediation.

Together, these capabilities create an autonomous and intelligent distributed enterprise architecture that can observe events, understand their meaning, and take appropriate action. Attendees will learn practical design principles for building scalable, resilient, traceable, and business-aligned distributed systems.
