Securing Agent-to-Agent Communication Through Context-Aware Authorization

Abstract:

 

As AI systems mature into autonomous agents capable of performing complex operations, a new layer of communication emerges; one where agents interact, share information, and make decisions with minimal or no human oversight. In this dynamic environment, securing communication between agents is not just about encryption or identity verification. It requires a deeper understanding of context and intent.

This keynote explores the challenges and design principles of secure agent-to-agent communication, with a focus on context propagation and fine-grained authorization. The talk outlines how intelligent agents can be equipped to assess whether a requestor has the appropriate context and permissions before accessing or sharing sensitive information. Drawing from real-world use cases in identity systems and AI-driven infrastructure, the session highlights practical patterns for designing agent workflows that respect least-privilege principles, enforce policy boundaries, and maintain auditability. Attendees will gain actionable insights into building trustworthy, policy-aware, and secure AI ecosystems where agent interactions are both autonomous and accountable.

He currently serves in a senior capacity at a leading identity and security company, where he drives innovation in secure cloud architecture, identity systems, and post-quantum cryptography. Rakesh is the inventor of multiple U.S. patents that have been extensively cited by global technology companies, reflecting the significant impact of his work on the field. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and serves as a peer reviewer for internationally recognized journals in cybersecurity. His contributions have advanced the state of the art in AI-enhanced security, quantum-resilient infrastructure, and scalable cryptographic systems, positioning him as a recognized expert in his domain.
