Applications are invited from research scholars / scientists / faculty members to attend a course on Swarm and Evolutionary Algorithms: Theory and Applications to be held at South Asian University New Delhi from Nov. 24-25, 2018.
A limited number of travel grants and waiver of full registration fee are available for SCRS members, which will be provided based on first come-first serve.
The discipline of nature inspired optimization algorithms is a major field of computational intelligence, soft computing and optimization at large, which has attracted the interest of many researchers. The past and on-going research in this field covers a wide range of topics from basic research to a huge number of real-world applications in science, engineering, industry, business, and economics. Introduction of many new algorithms inspired by natural selection, food foraging, group movements, physical laws and other natural paradigms has made this field of research quite rich. Such algorithms provide efficient tools to those problems, which cannot be solved using traditional and classical mathematical methods, as the algorithms do not require any auxiliary mathematical condition to be satisfied. However, in general, nature inspired algorithms can be broadly classified into three categories: Evolutionary Algorithms, Swarm Intelligence and algorithms based on Physical Laws.
The aim of this course is to introduce the swarm and evolutionary compuatation based optimization algorithms. Apart from the numerical examples, implementation of will be explained. The course will be beneficial to the students/faculty/researchers who are intended to pursue Ph.D. in the Nature Inspired Algorithms.Algorithms to be Covered:
