|1. Prof. Debasish Ghose, IISc Bangalore|
|Debasish Ghose is a professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and heads the Guidance, Control and Decision Systems Laboratory. His main research interests are in the area of guidance and control of unmanned aerospace vehicles and multi-agent system dynamics and control as applied to muti-robot systems. He also works on developing and applying vision based algorithms in robotic systems. His work on these areas has lead to two international patents, one on vision based obstacle avoidance algorithms for smart wheelchairs and the other on detection of nuclear spills using muti-robot systems. In the past, he has been a visiting professor in several universities including the University of California at Los Angeles and lectured at several international conferences and workshops. He is on the editorial board of several journals (including the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, and Proceedings of IMechE (UK)). He has published about 200 technical papers in international journals and conferences, and co-authored a highly cited book on distributed scheduling algorithms in the IEEE Computer Society Press. His book on Glowworm Swarm Optimization Algorithm is due to be published by Springer soon. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering.|
|2. Prof. Kusum Deep, IIT Roorkee|
Dr. Kusum Deep, is a Professor, with the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. Born on August 15, 1958, she pursued B.Sc Hons and M.Sc Hons. School from Centre for Advanced Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh. An M.Phil Gold Medalist, she earned her PhD from IIT Roorkee in 1988, assisted by UGC Scholarship throughout.
She carried out research at Loughborough University, UK during 1993-94, under an International Post Doctorate Bursary funded by Commission of European Communities, Brussels.
She was awarded the Khosla Research Award in 1991; UGC Career Award in 2002; Starred Performer of IIT Roorkee Faculty continuously from 2001 to 2005; best paper, Railway Bulletin of Indian Railways,2005; special facilitation in memory of late Prof. M. C. Puri, 2007.
She has co-authored a book entitled "Optimization Techniques" by New Age Publishers New Delhi in 2009 with an International edition by New Age Science, UK.
Nine students have been awarded PhD under her supervision and six are in progress. She has 65 research publications in refereed International Journals and 55 research papers in International / National Conferences. She is on the editorial board of a number of International and National Journals. She is a Senior Member of Operations Research Society of India, IEEE, Computer Society of India, Indian Mathematical Society and Indian Society of Industrial Mathematics. She is on the Expert Panel of the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.
Her areas of specialization are numerical optimization and their applications to engineering, science and industry. Currently she is working on Nature Inspired Optimization Techniques, particularly, Genetic Algorithms, Memetic Algorithms, Particle Swarm Optimization and their applications to solve real life problems.
|3. Prof. Manjaree Pandit, MITS Gwalior|
Dr. Manjaree Pandit is currently Professor & Head in the Department of Electrical Engineering, MITS, Gwalior. She has done her graduation and post graduation from MANIT, Bhopal and has been with MITS for 27 years. Dr Pandit is actively engaged in research in the area of Soft computing and its Engineering applications, has published more than 40 papers in International Journals of repute, guided more than 40 PG dissertations and 03 Ph.D candidates. She has presented/published more than 100 papers in renowned National/international conferences She has successfully completed research projects sponsored by the central funding agencies like DST, UGC and AICTE, has been involved in conducting a number of National Conferences, workshops and short-term courses.
She is the chairperson of the ISTE (Indian Society for technical education) chapter of the institute. Madam Pandit is a Fellow of technical societies like the IETE (Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers), IE (India), life member of ISTE and member of (IEEE), USA (Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). She is working as reviewer for the internationally acclaimed IEEE Transactions and many more.
She has received ISTE National Research Award for year 2002. She also received National Award for promising Engineering teacher for the year 2004 and certificate of Merit from Institution of Engineers, for the same year. Dr. Pandit received research award from UGC for carrying out post doctoral work during 2009-11.
|4. Dr. P C Jha, Delhi University|
|Dr. P.C. Jha is an Associate Professor in the Department of OR, University of Delhi. He has obtained his Ph. D., M. Phil and M.Sc. degrees in Operational Research from University of Delhi. He has organized four Workshops cum Training Programmes(DST sponsored) and five international Conferences along with Golden Jublee Annual Convention of Operations Research Society of India. He has edited book entitled Modeling Optimization and Application published by Narosa Publishing House and authored a book on Software Reliability Assessment with OR Application published by Springer Verlag. He has contributed a chapter in edited book Handbook of Performability Engineering, Springer Verlag. He has published more than 50 research papers in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Marketing and Software Engineering peer reviewed journals. He has guided masters projects, MBA, M. Phil. Dissertations and supervised more than 10 Ph.D. students in OR. His research interests include modeling and optimization in Supply Chain Management, Marketing and Software Engineering.|
|5. Dr. Millie Pant, IIT Roorkee|
Dr. Millie Pant is working as an associate professor at Department of Paper Technology, Saharanpur Campus of IIT Roorkee, since 2007. She did her M.Sc. (Mathematics) from CCS University, Meerut and PhD from mathematics department of IIT Roorkee. Her areas of interest include Numerical optimization and operations research, Evolutionary Algorithms and Swarm Intelligence techniques. At present she is guiding six PhD theses, multidisciplinary in nature, jointly and two B. Tech projects. She has published 55 research papers in various journals and conferences of national and international repute. She is also working at present in a DST sponsored project worth Rs. 13,97,000 as a Principal Investigator.
Dr. Millie Pant is a member of editorial board of 'Int. J. of Mathematical Modeling, Simulation and Applications' and has acted as reviewer of several journals like IEEE Transactions of Evolutionary Computation, International Journal of Knowledge Engineering and Soft Data Paradigms, IEEE Transactions on System, Man and Cybernetics etc.
Dr. Millie Pant along with her team of research scholars is working on the development of sophisticated optimization techniques which can be used for solving complex and intractable problems arising in various disciplines of Science and Engineering like mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, water resources etc. She along with her team have developed Evolutionary Algorithms based, user friendly computer programs that can be used effectively even by the person having little or no knowledge complex optimization techniques.
|6. Dr. Vivek Singh, SAU New Delhi|
Dr Vivek Singh is a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Allahabad. He started his academic career as a UGC Junior Research Fellow at University of Allahabad in 2002 and thereafter served as faculty member in BanasthaliVidyapith (for about an year from 2003 to 2004) and Banaras Hindu University (from 2004 to 2011). In July 2011, He moved to South Asian University in New Delhi on leave from Banaras Hindu University, and is currently serving there.
Dr Viveks research interests include Artificial and Collective Intelligence, Text Analytics and Complex Adaptive Systems. He primarily works on AI and Machine Learning and its applications to problems in social systems and text processing. He has designed agent based simulations to model complex social processes and structures and used them to understand &analyze the dynamics of collective intelligence in social groups and organizations. He has devised programs and tools to automatically process texts, primarily from social media. He has applied computational formulations for text processing for cross cultural sociological analysis of social media and to the problems of recommender systems design and computational advertising. He is also working on a Indo-Mexican Joint Research project and a UGC Major Research project in these areas.
Dr Vivek is professionally very active and is a Senior Member of ACM, IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, Computer Society of India, IETE and Indian Science Congress Association. He has reviewed research papers in reputed International Conferences and Journals and delivered several invited Lectures. He has published more than 30 research papers, 5 book chapters and 3 articles.

|7. Dr. Manoj Thakur, IIT Mandi|
Dr. Manoj Thakur did M.Sc. from University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee) in 2000 and M.Phil and Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee in the year 2002 and 2007 respectively. Presently he is a faculty member of the School of Basic Sciences, IIT Mandi. He joined this institute as an Assistant Professor in 2010. Before joining IIT Mandi he was in industry during 2007 to 2010 and worked there as Research Analyst in Financial domain.
He has published eleven research papers in referred journals and conferences. He has acted as reviewer for Applied Mathematics and Computations, Applied Soft Computing, Elsevier and many other National and International conferences.
His areas of research are Numerical Optimization, Parallel Computing, Artificial intelligence and its application to Finance.
|8. Dr. Kedar Nath Das, NIT Silchar|
|Dr Kedar Nath Das is recently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, NIT Silchar, Assam. After completion of his Ph. D. degree from IIT Roorkee in 2008, he served as Lecturer at BIT Mesra, Ranchi and then as an Assistant Professor at KIIT Bhunaneswar, Orissa for few years. Since last about 3 years, he is in NIT Silchar. Now 4 research scholars are working under his guidance in different fields of evolutionary optimization. He is having a number of International journal papers to his credit. Dr Das has a published a book and a book chapter too. As a coordinator, he has organized a DST sponsored one-week STTP on Recents in Evolution Optimization Techniques and Applications (REOTA-2012), during 1-7 June, 2012 at NIT Silchar. In his carrier, Dr Das visited Las Vegas (USA) during his Ph. D. program and the complete tour was sponsored by CSIR, DST and MHRD. Then he visited Sarawak (Malaysia) and Dubai during his teaching profession. He had an sponsored and invited project presentation at BARC, Mumbai during October, 2012. In addition to his credit, he is a senior life member of Operational Research Society of India (ORSI) and life member of ISTE and OMS. |9. Dr. Amar Kishore, ISI Kolkata|
|Dr. Amar Kishor is currently working as Visiting Scientist at Electronics and Communication Sciences Unit (ECSU) Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He has earned his Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee in 2011He has done his Masters in Mathematics from the prestigious Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 2004.Before joining IIT Roorkee, Dr kishor had cleared CSIR- JRF NET and Gate exams, Dr. Amar has also been awarded the NBHM fellowship for Post doctoral program by Department of Atomic Energy, Mumbai . . Dr. Amar has worked on the guided Pareto-optimal front during his Ph.D. tenure. His current research interests include Image Processing, Pattern Recognition , Measures of Fuzzy Uncertainty, Entropy Based Decision Making and Evolutionary Algorithms. He has published several research papers in reputed national and international journals. He is keen to teach what he learned that is why he is here.|
|10. Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh, ABV-IIITM Gwalior|
Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh is currently working as Associate Professor at Atal Bihari Vajpayee - Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management Gwalior for last two years (2008 - onwards). Prior to this he was associated with Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur as Senior Networking Engineer for approximate seven years (2001 - 2008), and as Assistant Professor more than two years (1999 - 2001) with Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology Longowal (a Government of Indian enterprise), and as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer for more than nine years (1990 - 1999) with National Institute of Technology Jalandhar (formerly Regional Engineering College, Jalandhar).
He has an experience of 21 years. He completed his M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 1998 and 2008 respectively. His Ph.D. thesis work is focused on enhancing the quality of solutions of hard multi-objective combinatorial optimization problems using multi-objective evolutionary algorithms. Presently, his areas of interest/research are evolutionary algorithms, data mining and computer networks.
He is recipient of Merit scholarship of Government of Uttar Pradesh for two years (1983 - 1985). He has approx 25 publications in Springer, IEEE, Elsevier and ACM and two book chapters published in Springer. He has been a member of the technical program committee of various international conferences including IEEE/Springer conferences, session chair in international conferences, and reviewer of books with Tata McGraw Hill.
|11. Dr. Joydip Dhar, ABV-IIITM Gwalior|
|Dr. Joydip Dhar is an Associate Professor in the area of Applied Sciences (Mathematics) of the Institute. Dr. Dhar has done his PhD from IIT, Kanpur in 1997 after completing his M.Sc (Mathematics) from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. He has been associated with the teaching profession and research for the past 14 years and has also published about 60 papers in his areas of interest and proficiency. Under his guidance 2 Ph.D, 8 M.Phil, 9 M.Tech and 8 MBA theses completed. Currently 6 Ph.D, 4 M.Tech, 7 MBA students are pursing their thesis. He is a life member of many professional societies ISTE, IMS, ISMMACS and annual member of American Mathematical Society (AMS). Under his mentorship a team of three students of ABV-IIITM, Gwalior after wining ACM-ICPC IIT Kanpur chapter represented India to participated in the prestigious ACM-ICPC world finals at Stockholm, Sweden from 16-22 April, 2009. He has conducted National Conference on Mathematical Modelling and Simulation from 9-11 January, 2009, AICTE-ISTE sponsored, short term course on Modelling, Simulation of Engineering and Environmental Systems from 15-19 March, 2004 and MHRD sponsored, short term course on Modelling, Simulation in Science and Engineering from 08-12, 2009. His current area of research is Mathematical Modelling and Simulation of Environmental, Managerial and Engineering systems.|

Dr. Siba K Udgata is presently the Director, Center for Modelling, Simulation and Design (CMSD), a high performance computing facility hosted by University of Hyderabad. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, University of Hyderabad, India. He has got his Masters followed by Ph.D in Computer Science in the area of mobile computing and wireless communication. His main research interests are Wireless Communication, Mobile Computing and Wireless Sensor Networks.
He was a United Nations Fellow and worked in the United Nations University/ International Institute for Software Technology (UNU/IIST), Macau (near Hongkong) as research fellow in the year 2001.
He was a visiting fellow at Ball State University, USA. He was also a visiting Professor at Nepal Engineering College, Nepal and Mahasarakham University, Thailand.
He has more than twenty years of teaching experience of teaching Masters Students of Computer Science. He served as Technical Program Co-Chair for different conferences like MIWAI-2011, FICTA-2012. He was a reviewer of many international journals and conferences.
His research focus is on intelligent algorithm for wireless communication and related domains. Dr. Udgata is working as a principal investigator in many Government of India funded research projects mainly for development of wireless sensor network applications and application of swarm intelligence techniques in cognitive radio network.
He has published extensively in different refereed international journals and conferences in India as well as abroad. He has visited many countries like Hong Kong, China, Japan, United States of America, Thailand, Australia, Singapore and Nepal as a visiting scientist, to present research papers or as visiting professor.

|Dr. Jagdish Chand Bansal is an Assistant Professor at South Asian University New Delhi. Dr. Bansal has obtained his PhD in Mathematics from IIT Roorkee. Before joining SAU New Delhi he has worked as an Assistant Professor at ABV- Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior and BITS Pilani. He has total 8+ years of teaching experience. He is the editor in chief of International Journal of Swarm Intelligence (IJSI) published by Inderscience. Currently, he is editing 7 special issues of various international journals published by Elsevier, Springer and Inderscience. He was also one of the organizers of international conferences BIC-TA 2012 at ABV-IIITM Gwalior, India, SocProS 2012 at JKLU Jaipur India and SocProS 2011 at Roorkee India.
